Offering Social and Emotional Support for Adolescents and Adults
Life doesn't have to have everything in order for us to be satisfied. At Optasia we work with you to help you find your joy. We believe there are few things more powerful than our own thoughts and beliefs. When life throws us curveballs, we work to help you "capture your thoughts," check them for accuracy, and we stay by your side as you learn to create new healthy patterns that will help you get unstuck and navigate the beautiful life that is before you with confidence.
Specializing in ADD, Executive Functioning Differences, and Anxiety, we believe that every personality is made up of specific strengths and differences. This is not by accident, and it is a beautiful thing when we learn to embrace all sides of who we are. Sometimes, it's through assessments that we can gather a clearer picture of these areas so that we can maximize our strengths towards any deficits that we may be wrestling. At Optasia, we are less concerned about finding "labels." However, we are very interested in helping folks find themselves.
We believe in collaborative care. Too many specialists support their clients in isolation, failing to capture the benefits found in working within a larger group. While we DO NOT prescribe medications, we collaborate with your prescribing doctors giving you, the client, the benefits of a much larger collaborative team approach to your personal medication management. We believe that medication, when utilized under proper supervision of a medical professional, can positively impact ones' quality of life. We teach that no matter the medication option, medication alone does not teach skills. If it is skill building that you are needing, this is your place. Through counseling, use of applied behavior analysis, and in partnership with your prescribing doctor, we individualize treatment to meet your specific needs in this season of your life.
We provide a wide variety of vocation and transition services. Assessment always comes before intervention in order to maximize outcomes. For this reason, we begin with assessment and individualized recommendations are then provided. For some, we do a more traditional career exploration and counseling, for others, we provide focused behavior therapy in the clinic or in community settings teaching skills in real life environements. Clients (age 13 and up) with special needs are encouraged to contact your local Texas Workforce Commission, Department of Rehabilitation as there may be funding support available.
(Social Skills Groups are on hold at this time.)
For clients with High-Functioning Autism (Aspergers) or related differences, we offer a variety of group or club meetings. While Autism or other social challenges may make it harder to initiate and maintain relationships, rarely does it reduce ones desire to be included. At Optasia, we regularly offer a variety of short term group options that range in focus from friendship to employment. Please contact us at admin@optasiaservices.com if you are interested in hearing about new social skills group sessions.

Our goal is to support educators in their pursuit to bring effective, evidence-based practices into their classrooms. We recognize that teachers work around the clock to meet the demands of the classroom. Our intention is to bring current applicable research findings into the hands of the ones who need it most.
